The Infinity Knot is a pattern formed by crossing two swastika (卍) symbols, originally an ornament on the chest of the Hindu deity Vishnu. Over time, it evolved to symbolize eternal life, consistency, and love. In Buddhism, it represents the Buddha's endless wisdom and compassion.
The artwork incorporates an antique round table as a ready-made object, linking the table's circular motion with the endless concept of Buddhist teachings. On this rotating table sits a stationary Infinity Knot, whose continuous lines resemble a Möbius strip, symbolizing infinity. The movement of the table and the stillness of the Knot create an unusual dynamic, thereby deconstructing the physical laws. Although the ready-made object from everyday life may seem familiar, upon closer inspection, the audience can discover surreal phenomena that break from reality.
